First Black Woman to live & work on space station

Jessica Watkins, raised in Lafayette, Colorado, is achieving two large first accomplishments. One is her first-ever mission in space and the other is that she is the first Black woman to live and work on the International Space Station (ISS).  Watkins’ knowledge will help with finding resources on the moon and Mars that will make traveling and living off-Earth possible. Before being picked for the astronaut program, she worked on the Mars 2020 rover. Her crew, Crew-4, will be the fourth rotation of astronauts on the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft to the ISS.
