Medical heroes honored with their own dolls

Mattell has honored six pandemic heroes by modeling Barbie dolls after them in part of their #ThankYouHeroes program. Of these six includes Dr. Chika Stacy Oriuwa and Dr. Jaqueline Goes de Jesus, both individuals who made a lasting impact on their communities throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Oriuwa is a psychiatry resident at the University of Toronto. She used her platform to advocate against and educate about systemic racism in healthcare and the rise of anti-Black racism online. Dr. Jacqueline Goes de Jesus is a biomedical researcher and post-doctoral fellow for the CADDE Project. She led the genome sequencing of Brazil’s COVID-19 variant.  Check out the other featured heroes in the link below.
