San Diego Squared Adds Life Sciences and Real Estate Leaders Linda Sierra and Chad Urie to Board of Directors

These leaders bring unmatched expertise in life sciences and real estate, ready to fuel SD2’s mission of developing future STEM leaders.
Linda Sierra, Senior Vice President of Business Development and DE&I Co-Chair at Bench International—an executive search firm renowned for advancing diversity in leadership—brings over 30 years of experience in life sciences. Linda is active on UCSD’s Chancellor’s Community Advisory Board, Life Science Cares, and Biocom California’s DE&I Committee. Recognized by The San Diego Business Journal as one of San Diego’s Top 50 Latino Leaders of Influence and among the SD500 Most Influential, Linda’s advocacy aligns seamlessly with SD2’s mission to create inclusive STEM pathways.
“Connecting underrepresented talent to industry careers has always been my passion,” Linda shared. “I’m thrilled to join SD2 in opening doors for individuals from all backgrounds to thrive in life sciences, STEM careers, and beyond.”
Chad Urie, the Executive Managing Director and West Coast Leader for JLL’s Life Science Practice Group, brings two decades of commercial real estate expertise. At JLL, he leads a team of professionals who craft creative, innovative solutions for life science companies to solve their real estate challenges. His work has been recognized locally and nationally with numerous achievement awards. Known for his community commitment, Chad fundraises for the Baja Challenge, which builds homes in Tijuana, and mentors youth through the Boys & Girls Club.
“Serving on SD2’s board, I’m dedicated to bridging opportunity gaps and supporting a strong STEM workforce so that both the individual and the broader San Diego community succeed,” he said.
